VVA is a one-woman owned and operated corsetry, costuming and lingerie company located in Surrey, BC. Designing and making clothing/costumes has always been a passionate hobby of mine as it coincided with my interest in writing, music and gaming. Before high school graduation, I realized that what I loved most was costume, especially period costume pieces like corsets, crinolines and bustle skirts; basically anything with copious amounts of lace prior to the 1920's.

 

Since then, I have tried to learn as much as I can and this included receiving my Diploma in Costuming for Stage and Screen at Capilano University in 2017 and many years of trial and error and self-directed study, which is always ongoing.

Currently, I work as a cutter and stitcher in the Vancouver film industry as I continue to grow my business on the side. The hours can be demanding, but I love the ever changing workload and the daily opportunities to learn new skills, techniques and tricks that combine to make me a better costume maker and business owner.
